About Us

Learn more about our staff

Hunt Hill Farm was established in 2008 by Jonathan Martin to offer a goal-oriented show program which emphasizes quality of care, instruction, and attention to the horses. We train hunter horses and jumpers. We train our students in equitation and tailor our training programs for individuals based on their needs and goals—and we make sure they have fun! Our students compete at several levels, and many of them have gone on to qualify for horse shows such as Devon, Pony Finals, Junior Hunter Finals, Indoor Finals, and Zone 2 Finals.

Our mission is to enable riders at any level to be successful and we are passionate about teaching. Our dedicated, experienced team of trainers ensure that students learn the art and practice of good horsemanship and learn how to compete.

Staff

Founder Jonathan Martin is an avid horseman. In 2015, he purchased what is now Hunt Hill in Chester Springs. He travels the east coast going to horse shows cheering on his students. In his spare time, he enjoys driving his four-in-hand team of horses.

Jennifer Schwartz, professional rider, started riding when she was five years old. She has competed through the 3’6” Jr/Amatuer divisions and at USEF rated horses shows in the Chester County area. In 2014 she turned professional. She enjoys showing young horses and helping the horses for our clients. In her spare time, she enjoys breeding and bringing up young horses.

Shelby Phillips, our barn manager, has been with Hunt Hill since 2017.  A manager with 15 years experience, she manages care of the horses, farrier/vet, medicine and treatments, and she teaches the lesson program. Shelby knew from an early age that she would pursue a career with horses. She grew up showing at both the local and rated lever as well as eventing and fox hunting. She began working at M&M Equestrian in 2009, where she gained valuable knowledge of horse care, teaching, riding, and the business. In her free time she enjoys riding her own two horses and fox hunting.
